Biography
In 1911, Percy Crowther was listed as living in Fulmodeston, Guist, Norfolk with his parents. The family had moved from East Ham, London when his father, Garibaldi Crowther, was appointed master of the public elementary school and his mother Eliza, the mistress.
A service record for Driver Percy Crowther could not be located. Research however, confirms that Driver Crowther was admitted to a Field Hospital in October 1916, with dental caries (tooth decay), he was discharged back to his unit three weeks later. This entry contains dates that suggest enlistment occurred in September 1914 and a posting to France around January 1916, possibly with the 3rd Divisional Artillery Column. Percy was awarded the Allied Victory and British War Medals.
He died in New Forest, Hampshire in December 1955, aged 62.
